I decided to create a physical piece which will manifest data related to my emotions and moods for a week for my Data Art class. I then decided to augment this piece to intensify the data I had captured.
Here is the physical piece which has consolidated data of my moods and emotions for 7 days.
The size, colour and shape represent different emotions such as inspired, fear, stressed, joy, anger, nostalgia, faith. The textures on the shapes represent the intensity of the emotion.
I was inspired by Michael Naimark’s work on Displacements. My earlier idea was to project one day’s data on the frame. But then I decided to project a texture on the piece that represents a consolidation of the emotions experienced in that day.
Here is a video that shows my moods and emotions for Day 4
Here is a video that shows my moods and emotions projected on the physical piece for 5 days.
I created the videos on after effects and then used madmapper to project them on the physical piece. I tried to manipulate the videos to emphasize on the shapes i.e moods that I experienced the most.
I am in the process of creating an index for the physical installation.
