I decided to create a physical piece which will manifest data related to my emotions and moods for a week . I then decided to augment this piece to intensify the data I had captured by using projection mapping to layer information on top of the consolidated data.

The process:
I decided to record my moods and emotions after every three hours in my diary for 7 days. I kept asking myself – How do I feel at this moment?
The second step was consolidation : I made a decision on choosing shapes for the emotions according to the repetitions and intensity
Here is the physical piece which has consolidated data of my moods and emotions for 7 days. I also created a Visual palette / legend that defines the set of shapes, colours and their overlaps.

I then summarized one day’s moods and emotions.

Projection mapping : layering information on top of the consolidated data 2 ideas.I was inspired by Michael Naimark’s work on Displacements.

The first idea was to highlight the emotions in sequence on the piece
I tried experimenting with it but the result wasn’t very effective and I could not map the shapes accurately. The second idea that I executed
successfully was of mapping one day’s summary on top of the weekly emotions visualization.

Here is a video that shows my moods and emotions for Day 4

Here is a video that shows my moods and emotions projected on the physical piece for 5 days.

I created the videos on after effects and then used madmapper to project them on the physical piece. I tried to manipulate the videos to emphasize on the shapes i.e moods that I experienced the most.
